[Red Arrow Image] From the 20th of September 2000, the WWW VL Spanish History Index will send the logo above to the best Spanish History Sites in Spain and World-wide:

[Red Arrow Image] This page consists of a list of web-sites which we think are the best Spanish History sites on the Internet. Non-Spanish sites on the history of Spain form part of the WWW VL Spanish History Index but are not yet part of this selection. In the future we will make a distinction between the best of the non-Spanish web sites on the History of Spain and the best of the Spanish History sites. To be elegible for this list of scientifically-evaluated sites, all web-sites should also be accessible totally and freely to a world-wide public without any kind of restriction.

ALPHABETICAL LIST OF SITES:

Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes. (University of Alicante and the BSCH Banco de Santander Central Hispano). A proper virual library and portal on Spanish history and culture hosting among others an impressive site on Emperor Carlos V carried out professionally by a selected group of historians. A "must" in your bookmarks. The latest is maintained by Ana M. Carabias Torres.

Clío Project. E-mail: admin@clio.rediris.es
Abstract: The aim of this project is twofold. On the one hand the site provides general information and on-line services Such as bibliography, texts of historical interest, etc. to undergraduates students. On the other hand, the server is an excellent research tool for scholars and professors. There are indeed four main sections: students (undergraduates); teachers (undergraduates); university (teaching materials); and research.

D'História (U. of Valencia). This is undoubtedly one of the first systematic indexes on Spanish history resources. The site is maintained by Anaclet Pons. E-mail: apons@uv.es.

Hspania Nova (Red Iris )
Abstract: Revista de Historia Contemporánea con especial dedicación a la Historia de España de 1808 hasta nuestros tiempos.

LIBRO E-mail: libro@mail.uca.edu
Abstract: Library of Iberian Resources on Internet. The Library of Iberian Resources Online (LIBRO) is a joint project of the American Academy of Research Historians of Medieval Spain and the University of Central Arkansas. Its task is to make available to users the best scholarship about the peoples and nations of the Iberian peninsula. Consequently, the book list is principally drawn from recent, but out-of-print university press monographs

Liceus (Nassa N.T. Siglo XXI). Spanish gateway in the field of Humanities: Difundir contenidos de calidad periódicamente actualizados, formar, informar, debatir, crear y/o proponer proyectos de investigación, publicar y editar. Devolver las Humanidades a ese lugar que le corresponde, creando puestos de trabajo apasionantes y dignos.

Fundación-Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza (Madrid). Although it is not a history resource proper, the quality of this site and its contents deserve your atention.

XXV Years without Franco,
Abstract: Special issue published on-line by El Mundo.
