The MEDICI Archive Project was founded in 1995 in order to realize the undeveloped potential of the Medici Granducal Archive, housed in the Archivio di Stato in Florence. The project contains the Medici Granducal Archive: Documentary Sources for the Arts and Humanities (1537-1743); a chapter on "Jewish Religion, History & Culture" and another chapter on "Costumes and Textiles in the Medici Archive".

"The Discourse on the Dignity of Man (1486) by Pico della Mirandola (1463-1494) is considered the "Manifesto of the Renaissance."... The Pico Project makes accessible a complete resource for the reading and interpretation of the Discourse within its own context, from an initial encounter through direct contact with the original text, presented here in its first printed edition (Bologna 1496) of which there exist no extant manuscripts...." The Project is common betwen the University of Bologna and Brown University.

Aldus Pius Manutius, Publisher of Renaissance Venice. "An exhibition to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the publisher's first dated work published in Venice in February of 1495. At Simon Fraser University Library Rare Books and Special Collections, May 8 to May 19, 1995. Aldus Manutius (1452-1516) was the foremost editor, printer, and publisher of the Italian Renaissance. Using books published as early as 1502 this exhibition describes the life, work, and impact of Aldus who published in Venice from 1494 until his death in February of 1515. The exhibition includes beautiful bookbindings from the 16th to the 20 Century."

The Online Florentine Catasto of 1427 is a web-searchable version of tax data for the city of Florence in 1427-29 based on David Herlihy and Christiane Klapisch-Zuber, Census and Property Survey of Florentine Dominions in the Province of Tuscany, 1427-1480. The Online Catasto provides the same information that is contained in the print-out volumes currently in the Archivio di Stato in Florence, but adds some variables that are not present in those volumes. Progetto Pico : De Hominis Dignitate. "Il Discorso sulla dignità dell'uomo di Pico della Mirandola (1463-1494) è considerato il «Manifesto del Rinascimento». Scritto nel 1486, contiene infatti l'esaltazione della creatura umana, come creatura libera e capace di conoscere e dominare la realtà intera.... L'interesse attuale del Discorso è proprio nella sua affermazione che la natura umana, indeterminata e debole di per sé, si realizza e si identifica attraverso la realtà molteplice delle culture umane: ogni cultura costituisce una via diversa, ma nella sua essenza, funzione e struttura, identica. Di qui anche la possibilità della concordia e il fondamento della pace, tra le culture.... Il Progetto-Pico/Pico-Project si offre a tutti come uno strumento integrale di lettura e di interpretazione del testo del Discorso nel suo contesto, dal primo accostamento sino al contatto diretto con il testo originale rappresentato dalla prima edizione a stampa (Bologna 1496) del Discorso, di cui non vi sono manoscritti. Il supporto elettronico consente un passo ulteriore, oltre la stampa, verso la realizzazione più compiuta di quella istanza anti-esoterica che già indusse il giovane Pico a pubblicare le sue 900 tesi proponendole alla comune discussione. Giovanbattista d`Empser, gia' comandante dell'artiglieria sabauda, si trovava allora nella capitale del Regno di Sardegna per motivi di salute, dopo essere stato di presidio a Chambery come Ufficiale del Reggimento "Torino" nel 1736, come si desume da un`altra lettera a lui indirizzata dal Marchese di Meana. Il fratello del Girolamo, Giovanni, fu al servizio della Repubblica Veneta dal 1700, nel 1728 fu nominato Capitano Ingegnere su proposta del Maresciallo di Schulemburg, un altro fratello, Bortolo, fu capitano della piazza di Docastelli, in Istria."

Catalogo in linea dei manoscritti Galileiani presso la BNCF. "La base dati Galileo, frutto della collaborazione tra la BNCF e altri istituzioni esterne, riguarda la catalogazione completa di 283 manoscritti su 347 del fondo Galileiano della Biblioteca Nazionale. Per una parte delle registrazioni bibliografiche è stata realizzata, come progetto pilota, l' associazione alle relative immagini digitalizzate e in alcuni casi anche la trascrizione dei testi. Il metodo di catalogazione utilizzato per Galileo risulta in generale particolarmente adattabile alla catalogazione di carteggi e manoscritti moderni.

Scriptorium, storia e storie tra Piave e Livenza. "Lo scriptorium era, nei monasteri medievali, il luogo in cui i monaci trascrivevano i codici degli autori classici e cristiani. E' in questo luogo che, in età altomedievale, si è deciso il destino della letteratura classica, dunque della nostra stessa identità culturale la stragrande maggioranza delle opere latine in nostro possesso infatti è giunta fino a noi grazie al lavoro paziente, umile e devoto dei monaci amanuensi negli scriptoria dei monasteri di mezza Europa, da Montecassino all’Irlanda. La parola evoca dunque un’opera di incalcolabile importanza per la tradizione culturale europea. Questo progetto, una biblioteca virtuale, lo Scriptorium appunto, ospitata nella rete civica del comune di Conegliano, è molto più modesto, ma nasce comunque da una riflessione sul problema della conservazione, della diffusione, della consultazione del patrimonio librario alla luce delle nuove tecnologie messe a disposizione dall’informatica e dalla telematica. Lo Scriptorium nasce per raccogliere, conservare e rendere accessibili le risorse bibliografiche e, in un prossimo futuro, iconografiche che riguardano la storia e la cultura del territorio situato tra Piave e Livenza. Lo spazio dello Scriptorium è suddiviso essenzialmente in tre sezioni: una biblioteca digitale che mette a disposizione risorse sulla storia locale (testi, bibliografie); la rivista Storiadentro, diretta da Luciano Caniato, punto di riferimento per la ricerca storica; il Labirinto, ovvero un piccolo portale in cui si intende raccogliere e recensire le risorse culturali presenti in rete.

Statuti della Liguria . "Dopo l'edizione a stampa del Repertorio degli statuti della Liguria (secc. XII-XVIII), a cura di Rodolfo Savelli (Genova, Società Ligure di Storia Patria, 2003) si è deciso di pubblicare anche in internet la base dati Statuti della Liguria e la connessa bibliografia."

Augusto Placanica. Biography, cuirriculum vitae, bibliography of his own works, essays on Placanica, etc.. "Augusto Placanica, laureato in filosofia all’Università di Napoli, è stato titolare nelle scuole medie superiori per circa dieci anni; ha quindi diretto la Biblioteca Comunale “De Nobili” di Catanzaro, che ha radicalmente ammodernato nel giro di cinque anni (1970-1975). All’università di Messina è stato professore incaricato di Bibliografia e, conseguita la libera docenza, di storia moderna (1970-1974). Dal 1975 è stato professore ordinario di Storia moderna all’Università di Salerno. Qui ha diretto l’Istituto di Storia moderna e contemporanea (poi Dipartimento di Scienze storiche e sociali) dal 1975 al 1992. È stato prorettore dell’Università di Salerno dal 1981 al 1988 e dal 1982 in poi delegato del rettore per la collana delle pubblicazioni dell’Università nonchè delegato alle biblioteche fino al 1997. Nel 1978 ha fondato il Centro Studi “Antonio Genovesi” per la storia economica e sociale, trasformato in Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca sulla Cultura Meridionale, che da sempre ha diretto, in seno al quale ha organizzato un seminario settennale e quattro convegni, e pubblicato tre numeri di “Annali”. Dal 1984 è stato vicepresidente del Consiglio direttivo della Società salernitana di storia patria e membro del comitato direttivo della “Rassegna storica salernitana”. Fondatore, nel 1986, con Piero Bevilacqua e Carmine Donzelli, dell’IMES, Istituto meridionale di storia e scienze sociali, di cui è stato presidente, nonché presidente del comitato scientifico della relativa rivista “Meridiana”. È stato membro del Comitato Nazionale per le celebrazioni del 1799 del Ministero per i Beni culturali e ambientali."

Le projet Gallica: Voyages en Italie. These digitized works are collecting together more then 1500 books and 1600 iconographical documents printed and edited before 1700 inside the Gallica project.

C.I.R.V.I. - Centro Interuniversitario di Ricerche sul Viaggio in Italia. "Il C.I.R.V.I. [...] svolge e promuove statutariamente ricerche, manifestazioni e pubblicazioni anche per incarico del Ministero dei Beni Culturali e del CNR, oltreché per varie università e istituzioni, sul tema del viaggio come incontro fra differenti tradizioni e mentalità e sulle irradiazioni che ne derivano nella storia della cultura, del pensiero, delle arti, del turismo. Il Centro ha costituito inoltre una biblioteca specializzata, eretta in istituzione autonoma e pubblica, e realizzato una serie di strumenti indispensabili per fondare su basi scientifiche tale tipo di ricerche, quali schedari specifici, di ordine bibliografico e di reperimento (circa 100.000 schede), microteca, archivio-dossieroteca, emeroteca, fototeca ecc. [...] Il Centro è responsabile della revisione e integrazione degli Schedari Tursi, che costituiscono la più grande raccolta di dati sul viaggio in Italia esistente al mondo, e incaricato della pubblicazione del Catalogo della Sezione Tursi della Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana di Venezia, la più grande collezione specifica esistente (25.000 titoli). Il Centro pubblica, sotto gli auspici del CNR, una rivista semestrale a fascicoli di circa 260 pagine, (il "Bollettino del C.I.R.V.I.", organo ufficiale di collegamento degli studi condotti), trilingue e diffusa in molte nazioni europee ed extraeuropee. La rivista - unica esistente sul "Viaggio in Italia" a livello di ricerca universitaria - ha anche il compito dell’aggiornamento bibliografico, dell’informazione sulle iniziative recenti in campo librario e dello spoglio di circa 200 testate di letteratura, storia e cultura. La collana di studi, testi inediti, bibliografie, pubblicata dal Centro e diffusa internazionalmente dalle Editions Slatkine di Ginevra e per la Francia dalle Editions Champion di Parigi ("Biblioteca del Viaggio in Italia") ha ospitato in alcuni anni di attività 50 titoli, mentre altri sono in preparazione. È stata fondata più recentemente una collana parallela, dedicata a tutte le forme di viaggio ed alle problematiche teoriche e storiche relative ("Dimensions du Voyage", edizioni C.I.R.V.I.-Slatkine, Moncalieri-Ginevra), che comprende già numerosi titoli. Altre due collane sono previste: gli "Archivi del Viaggio" (reprints di introvabili) e la "Bibliothèque Stendhal". Al Centro fanno capo oltre duecento ricercatori, quasi tutti professori universitari, specialisti rispettivamente di quasi tutte le discipline comprese nell’arco delle Scienze umane, e che rappresentano numerosissime differenti nazioni dei cinque continenti. Museo Bagatti-Valsecchi. "HOUSED in Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi, in the heart of Milan, is one of the finest museum-homes in Europe. It is now a private foundation, set up by the Bagatti Valsecchi heirs to open the family's late 19th century residence and collections of artworks to the public. SINCE 1994 it has been possible to visit the house's many fascinating rooms in which the 19th century interiors are embellished by outstanding collections, of Renaissance origin or inspiration: paintings, wood carvings and furnishings, weapons and armour, ceramic and glass wares, artefacts in gold and ivory, decorative metal objects, tapestries. Biblioteca Ambrosiana. "Founded by Cardinal Federico Borromeo, this great Library is situated in Lombardy and was one of the first to be opened to the public, thanks to the gesture of its famous patron (1609). Borromeo had conceived it as a centre for study and culture: it was in fact his wish that other institutions, such as the College of Doctors, the Fine Arts Academy and the Gallery, should flourish side by side. The Cardinal collected for his Library, which was named Ambrosiana after the patron saint of Milan, a large number of codices in Greek, Latin, Vulgar Latin and various Oriental languages. These manuscripts represent precious collections that come from religious institutions, such as the Benedictine Monastery at Bobbio, the Augustinian Convent of Santa Maria Incoronata and the library of the Capitolo Metropolitano of Milan, and also from such important private collections as those of Gian Vincenzo Pinelli, Francesco Ciceri and Cesare Rovida, all illustrious scholars and bibliophiles of the 16th century. Among the innumerable benefactors that contributed to enriching the Ambrosiana, are to be noted the names of Federico Fagnani, Pietro Custodi and Giacomo Mellerio, who, in the 19th century, bequeathed their extraordinary collections of books to the Library. The vastness of the collections, the number and value of the codices all make the Ambrosiana undoubtedly one of the most important libraries in Italy and in the world. It has had many famous librarians such as the Milanese historian Giuseppe Ripamonti, Ludovico Antonio Muratori, Giuseppe Antonio Sassi, Cardinal Angelo Mai, Antonio Maria Ceriani, Cardinal Giovanni Mercati and Achille Ratti, who became Pope as Pius XI. The Library has an historical, literary, religious and particularly retrospective classical nature, that is to say, it is dedicated to the study of the past. The Library is sustained by two Colleges, one of the Doctors - presided over by the Prefect - which superintends its cultural activity, and the Conservatori, which is in charge of its administration. Among the extremely rich collections of the Ambrosiana Library are the Arab and Oriental collections, which are exceptionally important. The glottological-dialectological library of Carlo Salvioni and the heraldic collection of Eugenio Casanovav are notable as well. Various palimpsests (with items of very great value, such as the only surviving fragments of the Vidularia by Plautus which date to the 5th century, and a part of the Gothic version of the Gospel compiled by the Arian bishop Ulfila) are to be found together with many splendidly illustrated manuscripts like the Libro d'ore Borromeo executed by Cristoforo De Predis, or the Gellio decorated and signed by Guglielmo Giraldi. The most outstanding manuscripts are the Ilias picta of the 5th century, the famous Virgil with notes in the margin by Francesco Petrarca and illustrated by Simone Martini; the Giuseppe Flavio, in the Latin version, on papyrus; the Irish Codex; and the Provençal Codex. There are also various handwritten codices such as the De prospectiva pingendi by Piero della Francesca, the Aristotele with a commentary transcribed by Boccaccio, the Life of Guidobaldo da Montefeltro by Pietro Bembo and the handwritten texts by S. Thomas Aquinas, Machiavelli, Tasso, Galileo, not to mention the entire collections of Parini and Cesare Beccaria. Of great worth are many of the incunabula (including the rare edition of the Decameron by Cristoforo Valdarfer, Venice 1471) and the numerous editiones principes. The Library also posseses many valuable bindings of both manuscripts and prints, one of which is actually in human skin. Among the notworthy special collections are those of the statutes and of editions by Aldo Manuzio, Giuseppe Comino and G.B. Bibliothèques virtuelles humanistes. "Le projet des " bibliothèques virtuelles humanistes " du CESR, avec la collaboration de l'IRHT (section de l'humanisme) constitue un volet nouveau qui complète et prolonge celui qui porte sur les incunables, tout en développant la dimension particulière de la numérisation de fonds patrimoniaux. Il s'agit de recherches sur l'optimisation des données numériques (mode image et mode texte) concernant l'humanisme et la Renaissance. Ce programme voudrait aboutir à la mise en place d'une base de données associant des textes en mode image et des ouvrages entièrement en mode texte avec lemmatisation et outils statistiques, consultables et interrogeables en ligne avec une interface ergonomique et publique. Ce vaste projet vise à numériser dans les quatre ans 2000 ouvrages provenant des fonds patrimoniaux régionaux, avec l'espoir d'en proposer 10% en mode texte, le reste étant accessible, en ligne et gratuitement, par une numérisation image de qualité. Census of the Italian Editions of the 16th Century. "Within the framework of the initiatives for the inventory and identification of older book stocks, the ICCU (Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo Unico delle Biblioteche italiane e per le informazioni bibliografiche ) coordinates and manages the project for the National Census of the Italian Editions of the 16th century (EDIT 16) with the aim of identifying and describing editions printed between 1501 and 1600 in Italy, in any language, and abroad, in Italian.1200 state, local authority, church and private libraries are taking part in the project in close collaboration with the Institute, providing information and describing the 16th century editions held by them. EDIT 16 is an essential reference point for any kind of research into the history of culture, and of books in particular, in the 16th Century Italy and, thanks to the identification of the items throughout the national territory, it provides an indispensable tool for the documentation, protection and improvement of Italy's cultural heritage. The Census network is being carried out with a database on local. The database is equipped with special files containing records that contribute to compiling authority files of authors, typographers/publishers and printer's devices. It also icludes descriptive records concerning sources, summaries and bibliographies and allows the user to visualize the pictures of the printer's devices.EDIT 16 currently contains about 50.000 bibliographic records. The retrieval of a further 30.000 records is envisaged, and this will enable the approximate estimate of 80.000 books published in Italy in the 16th Century to be checked.EDIT 16 is available as printed volumes (at present four volumes have been published".

LAIT - Libri antichi in Toscana 1501-1885. "... Grazie ad una convenzione tra Regione Toscana e Biblioteca Comunale Forteguerriana di Pistoia, nel 2000 è stato pubblicato su supporto cd il primo catalogo cumulato LAIT, Libri antichi in Toscana 1501-1885, che raccoglieva i dati relativi a oltre 91.000 esemplari conservati in 42 diverse biblioteche e si proponeva come strumento unitario di accesso alle descrizioni su supporto informatico delle edizioni antiche fino a quel momento raccolte presso l'Ufficio regionale. Ancora presso la Biblioteca Forteguerriana è stato curata la seconda edizione di LAIT, che ora comprende poco meno di 150.000 record relativi ad esemplari conservati in 64 biblioteche, frutto di un'attività di cumulazione e revisione che ha riguardato principalmente la forma delle intestazioni principali e secondarie, interventi di normalizzazione delle note di provenienza e nell'area della pubblicazione. LAIT - Libri antichi in Toscana 1501-1885 è ora disponibile in versione Web ed è imminente la pubblicazione della seconda edizione su supporto Cd.

Maurice Aymard: Una Sicil.ia vista da parigi, Omaggio a Maurice Aymard. Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia - Università degli studi di Catania, Catania, 2006 in Mediterranea, Ricerche Storiche. " Il 16 dicembre 2006 la Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia dell'Università degli Studi di Catania rende omaggio a Maurice Aymard in occasione del suo settantesimo compleanno. Nel corso della manifestazione è stata distribuita una raccolta digitale su supporto informatico degli scritti di Aymard che riguardano la Sicilia pubblicati su riviste, atti di congressi, miscellanee e altro di difficile reperibilità. Il titolo della raccolta "Una Sicilia vista da Parigi" vuole evidenziare l'attenzione di Aymard per la storia della Sicilia che fa parte integrante della storia del Mediterraneo.
