  DM is an on-line, open access, peer-reviewed journal devoted to the use of digital tools and media in the study of medieval culture. Its inaugural issue was published in April, 2005.
  DM publishes work of original research and scholarship, theoretical articles on digital topics, notes on technological topics (markup and stylesheets, tools and software, etc.), commentary pieces discussing developments in the field, bibliographic and review articles, tutorials, and project reports. The journal also commissions reviews of books and major electronic sites and projects. All contributions are reviewed before publication by authorities in humanities computing.

La prima scadenza... vedrà realizzati, nell'ordine, l'architettura web e il sistema informativo (basati su XML), il motore di ricerca testuale (TreSy); l'acquisizione in formato digitale e la marcatura di edizioni documentarie di rilievo critico già disponibili a stampa; la ricognizione e l'edizione di alcuni fondi documentari per lo più inediti appartenenti alle aree di Milano, Pavia, Cremona, Lodi, Brescia, Como. Si raggiungerà così il già ragguardevole obiettivo di integrare, entro un unico contesto di consultazione e di ricerca, alcune migliaia di testi documentari (editi e inediti) 'trattati' con metodo omogeneo sotto l'aspetto delle procedure di codifica e di rappresentazione. E saranno nel contempo avviati cantieri destinati a produrre l'edizione delle carte tramandate dagli archivi delle più importanti istituzioni ecclesiastiche della regione... Per il 2002 è prevista un'attività di ricognizione mirata al censimento e (in prospettiva) al recupero nell'ambito del Codice di materiali d'archivio conservati in sedi (private, pubbliche, ecclesiastiche) di non facile individuazione e frequentazione".

  “The Medieval Institute at the University of Notre Dame is privileged to possess a photographic copy of the entire manuscript collection of the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan. The plan to reproduce the holdings of the Ambrosiana was conceived in 1960, when Cardinal Giovanni Battista Montini, archbishop of Milan (the future Pope Paul VI), came to the University to receive an honorary degree from then President of the University Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh. Former Director of the Medieval Institute and Doctor of the Ambrosiana Astrik L. Gabriel became coordinator of the project whereby the Institute acquired positive and negative microfilms of all 12,000 Ambrosiana manuscripts; photographs and negatives of 10,000 drawings and 30,000 manuscript illuminations; and 8,000 color slides of drawings and illuminations. These materials, known collectively as the Ambrosiana Archive, comprise the Frank M. Folsom Ambrosiana Microfilm Collection and the Mary M. Davis Collection of Ambrosiana Drawings.” At the Ambrosiana, the project is coordinated by Monsignor Cesare Pasini.”

• Vercelli Book Digitale
  "The Codex Vercellensis, or Vercelli Book, as it is known in the Anglo-Saxon world and now also in Italy, is a manuscript dating back to the end of the 10th century, containing miscellaneous religious works, in verse and prose [...] The main aim of this project is the production of a digital version of the manuscript in order to offer a practical and effective way to consult it both to scholars and to anyone who is interested in studying the codex, eliminating the need for a direct consultation. Secondly, the Digital Vercelli Book will collect all the texts preserved in the ms. and will provide them in various formats, together with tools for consultation and textual analysis."

• The World of Dante

  "The World of Dante offers a hypermedia environment for the study of the Inferno. This project is designed to appeal to the different purposes of a wide range of readers, not simply those with scholarly interests. This version of the Inferno is generated by software from a densely encoded electronic text. Unlike other versions of the poem presently online, this copy of the Inferno has been tagged using SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language)... Search results are retrieved and presented using DynaWeb, a product of the Inso Corporation. The text and searching enabled by DynaWeb and the underlying SGML demonstrates the potential of electronic resources in the humanities... This copy of the Inferno is also accompanied by a wide variety of visual material... The World of Dante seeks to make this remarkable universe more accessible to students of the poem. To this end we have compiled and will continue to assemble photographs, engravings, and illustrations of many of the geographical sites and structures named in the poem".

The Italian History Index is made of different pages which are always under construction. You will find here Virtual Resources produced in Italy together with other world-wide Resources that deal with the history of Italy. The Index has and editorial board to select the "Best of the Italian History Index" and specific maintainers: "Medieval Italian History" is maintained by Prof.Pietro Corrao, University of Palermo and Prof.Roberto Delle Donne, University of Naples; "Anthropological Italian History" is maintained by Alessandra Guigoni, "Military History" is maintained by Elena Sodini, University of Verona, "E-teaching/e-learning" is maintained by Prof.Angelo Gaudio, University of Udine. In the future, new maintainers will contribute to the development of other categories in the Index.

The Medieval Italian History Index is a joint project between the European University Institute's Library, the University of Palermo, Facoltà di Scienze della Formazione and the University of Naples, Dipartimento di Discipline Storiche "Ettore Lepore".
The Italian History Index was created in April 1995 and became part of the WWW VL History Network in May 1999. The Medieval Italian History Index was created in October 2001 and became part of the Italian History Index.
