Documents for the
History of the destruction of the WWW-VL old project at vlib.org/interarb.com.
(Last updated the 2nd of February 2006)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
To all VL maintainers and
VL history maintainers, do
use the old WWW-VL logo like we do on all our pages and
not the new vlib.org/interarb.com logo which has an added copyright
notice inside the image. We do this to differentiate us from who
did stole our "WWW-VL history central catalogue" title
and still uses it on his private server illegally.
-
Please note that
this dossier started in December 2005 will grow with other materials
as soon as we will have time to add them.
-
We also offer to
publish any other document related to the destruction of the WWW-VL
that any VL maintainer would like to add here.
- WWW-VL
Constitution
and separated
WWW-VL by-laws available
from the WWW-VL Naval and Maritime, VL members area.
- Vlib.org
minutes of a meeting in Geneva,
13rd of October 2005.
- "Confidential"
letter from Mr.Chapman to Mr.Noiret-Mr.Lopez Martin,
31st of October 2005.
- Mr.Noiret's
answer to Mr.Chapman's letter, 2nd of November 2005
and further letter from Mr.Chapman 3rd of November and Mr.Noiret's
answer the same day about lack of transparency in vlib.org management,
bypassing constitution and bylaws, delinking history indexes
from VL main catalogue, never answering to questions and avoiding
creating list of discussion for all VL maintainers.
- Mr.Laughead,
USA History maintainer to old elected VL council about
Mr.Chapman taking away history sites bypassing VL Constitution-bylaws,
29 of November 2005.
- Dossier
created the 10th of December 2005 and
sent to all VL council members to illustrate vlib.org/interarb.com
activities against old WWW-VL project and History Central Catalogue.
- Information about attacks against
the article "World Wide Web Virtual Library" in Wikipedia
which has been re-written by vandals
stopped the 5th of December 2005 by Mr.Ray Trygstag,
member of old VL council.
- Mr.Lynn H.Nelson against
arbitrary deletion by Mr.Chapman from being part of elected
VL council, 1st January 2005.
- Mr.Gabriel
Fenteany, member of last elected VL council leaving Mr.Chapman's
"vlib.org" private project, 3rd December 2005.
- Sir
Tim Berners-Lee reacting to the breakdown and collapse of the
old WWWVL project, because of Mr.Chapman threat to it,
Dec.2005.
- Mr.Ray Trygstag, member of last elected
VL council, answering
Tim Berners-Lee and leaving
Mr.Chapman's "vlib.org",
10 of December 2005.
- Letter
from Noiret, 11 january 2006 to old elected council members
and other history maintainers against harassment from vlib.org/Chapman.
- Attachment to the same letter
(n.7), of letters
from Chapman dated 3rd and 6th january 2006.
- Letter from Lynn H.Nelson, 18-01-2006
to Laughead, Lopez Martin, Noiret, Berners-Lee about the use
of the old WWW-VL logo by the History Network and History Central
Catalogue.
- History
of WWW-VL from 1998 to November 2004 available at archive.org:
Gerard Manning catalogue maintainer.
- General
catalogue of WWW-VL from December-2004 to March 2005 available
at archive.org: Gabriel Fenteany, Georges Laughead, Michael
Chapman, co-maintainers.
- The old WWW-VL created by Tim-Berners's
Lee and managed by an elected council has been destructed by
Mr.Chapman without following any due constitution-bylaws procedure
and without creating any forum for VL members discussion. The
WWW-VL History Central Catalogue turned back to the old WWW-VL
logo and will continue to live independently as a networked
collection of maintained VLs. The old federated WWW-VL project
(1991-2005) died in December 2005.
